Unify - enabling you to build custom interfaces
Unify is a fully hackable LLMOps platform

Welcome to NEXUS Startup Diaries, the number one place to discover the hottest and most inspiring startups and founders.
Today we're excited to meet Daniel Lenton of Unify
So Daniel, tell us more about Unify
We've built a fully hackable LLMOps platform, enabling you to build custom interfaces for: logging, evals, guardrails, labelling, tracing, agents, human-in-the-loop, hyperparam sweeps, and pretty anything else you could think of.
Why have we built this?
Every LLM product has unique and changing requirements, as do the users. We believe LLM infra should reflect this. We've tried to make Unify as (a) simple, (b) modular and (c) hackable as possible, so you can quickly probe, analyze, and iterate on the data that's important for you, your product and your users, without getting bogged down in LLM abstractions.

How did you come up with the business idea and what problem are you looking to solve?
Talking to 100s of enterprise users throughout 2024, it became clear that every use case is very different, and the current observability tooling and LLM infra simply fall short of the requirements.
What made you want to start your own business?
I love working on big-picture projects, and I was fortunate enough to raise funding by virtue of a successful GitHub project grew to 14k stars in 2022. We're now working on something else, but that's how I got my foot in the door.
What stage is your business currently at?
We're seed stage, our prioritiy is 100% on building a great product and ensuring we have genuine PMF.

What do you love most about being an entrepreneur?
The excitement, the uncertainty, and the sense of adventure.
What is the number one business tip you've learned that you'd like to share with fellow budding entrepreneurs?
Don't care about hype or vanity metrics, just build a product that your users love, and there is no better first user than yourself!
Who are your startup heroes?
I've not really followed entrepreneurs too much to be honest. My heros growing up were more writers and comedians, like Simon Amstell. I think Michael Seibel is the best in the world at distilling advice for founders, and I'm fortunate enough to get direct mentorship from him.

Is there a favourite podcast, book or series you'd like to share with the world?
YC YouTube is a must!
Anything else you'd like to share?
If you want to do a company, then just get started! You won't come up with the perfect idea by just thinking, you can't really ideate and iterate until you've made the leap.
Where can people find you online?
